Last week I “rejoined” the CFBA blog tour. I was still a member, but I’d stopped receiving books for a while. It’s exciting to receive a new book in the mailbox almost every day. I’ve got some serious reading to do.

A couple of days ago I received a The Gathering Storm by Bodie and Brock Thoene from Summerside Press–their romantic suspense line. I absolutely LOVE their covers.

I was flooded with a rush of memories–you see, my first experience with Christian fiction was twenty or so years ago. I gobbled up the Thoene’s Zion Covenant series, loving every minute of them. I learned so much about WW II and developed a love for historical fiction, suspenseful historical fiction, that is. These books also inspired me to write Christian fiction, though it would be many more years before I pursued that dream.

So, when I received this book, I held it to my heart, then thumbed through the pages and breathed in the scent of a new book. Ha! Some will think me crazy, but others of you–you know what I mean.

Of course, next month during their tour spot, I will be posting my review, but I just had to share with you my reaction to receiving this book. When I read the prologue, tears came to my eyes.

I know this book is going to be something special.
