I was sad to hear that Harlequin was closing the Heartsong Presents line this year. For more than a decade Barbour Books published these sweet romances and distributed them through the Heartsong Presents Book Club, and that’s where I got my break into the publishing world.

SEASONS OF LOVE, set on a cranberry farm, was my first published novel. It was repackaged into a 3-in-1 romance collection called CRANBERRY HEARTS, along with titles from Lena Nelson Dooley and Lisa Harris.
After that, came DISARMING ANDI, EXPOSING AMBER, and PRAYING FOR RAYNE, all three stories set in North Dakota. Barbour eventually repackaged them into a 3-in-1 collection called NORTH DAKOTA WEDDINGS.
Then came my redwood stories. Growing up, I had always dreamed of seeing the redwoods, but I never imagined I would live in a town in southern Oregon in which Redwood Highway was the main drag. Or that Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park was just a short drive away along the beautiful Smith River. We spent many summers hiking the redwoods, visiting the rocky Oregon coast, and exploring Crater Lake. I’ve written several books set in Oregon, including THE CAMERA NEVER LIES and OREGON OUTBACK. You can bet I’ll be writing more. Then when we moved back to Texas, I was given a wonderful opportunity to write three stories set in the coastal redwood region of California near the border of southern Oregon, which includes Jedediah Smith. God is so good! Those stories are UNDER THE REDWOOD TREE, SHELTERING LOVE, and HEARTS IN THE MIST. They’re some of my favorites because I so enjoyed setting my mind back in the redwoods while writing them. If you get your hands on them, I hope you enjoy the stories I’ve set in the redwoods.
