This week, the Christian Fiction Blog Alliance is introducing The Gathering Storm Summerside Press (August 1, 2010) by Bodie and Brock Thoene My thoughts: I wasn’t feeling well on Saturday so took the opportunity to rest on the couch and read The Gathering Storm. It’s been so long since I’ve had an opportunity to spend a whole day reading a book. Maybe that’s why I became so involved in the story, as if I were one of the characters living out the horrors of WWII. There were several moments I pulled myself from the story just to contemplate what I’d …

The heat and wildlife and family time

Elizabeth GoddardUncategorized

Had a wonderful time with kiddoes yesterday. We have a yearly pass to the Caldwell Zoo but with the temperatures soaring here–it’s was ninety degrees this morning at nine o’clock!– we opted to visit the Brookshires Wildlife Museum yesterday. The animals were alive–at one time! But at least the building was air-conditioned. I had planned to post a few images here, but the website is in Flash so no can do. This week, the Christian Fiction Blog Alliance is introducing Twilight’s Serenade Bethany House (August 1, 2010) by Tracie Peterson I met Tracie several years ago at a conference when she was still an editor for Heartsong Presents. Tracie was the editor who opened the door to the publishing world for me when she chose my Seasons of Love (Heartsong 2007). At the time, she was transitioning out of her position and the new editor actually acquired the story. In addition to being a prolific writer, Tracie always impressed me with her love for Jesus and how much His light shines …

Authors That Inspire

Elizabeth GoddardUncategorized

Last week I “rejoined” the CFBA blog tour. I was still a member, but I’d stopped receiving books for a while. It’s exciting to receive a new book in the mailbox almost every day. I’ve got some serious reading to do. A couple of days ago I received a The Gathering Storm by Bodie and Brock Thoene from Summerside Press–their romantic suspense line. I absolutely LOVE their covers. I was flooded with a rush of memories–you see, my first experience with Christian fiction was twenty or so years ago. I gobbled up the Thoene’s Zion Covenant series, loving every minute …
